Rodrigo Cofré

Research interest
I'm broadly interested in the physics, mathematics, neurosciences, computer science, arts, education, and technology. In particular, my research has been focus lately in developing methods to analyze spiking data.
I was born in Santiago, Chile where I studied Mathematical Engineering at the Catholic University (PUC). Then I moved to Nice in France, where I did my Master and Ph.D. theses under the direction of Bruno Cessac at Inria Sophia-Antipolis, where I worked with spiking neuronal network models, applying and developing different computational techniques inspired by methods & ideas from statistical mechanics. After finishing my degrees I moved to Geneva, Switzerland, where I had a postdoctoral position under the direction of Jean-Pierre Eckmann. Since June 2017 I'm a Joint Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Valparaiso.
